🔥 Fire cupping near you
Fire cupping is the classic, traditional-Chinese-medicine way to create the cup’s suction: a flame briefly heats the air inside a glass cup, the cup goes on the skin, and the cooling air pulls the tissue upward. The flame makes the vacuum but never touches you. Because it involves heat and glass, fire cupping should always be done by a trained practitioner — most often a licensed acupuncturist.

Fire cupping: common questions
- What is fire cupping?
- Fire cupping is the traditional Chinese-medicine method of cupping. The practitioner briefly holds a flame inside a glass cup to remove the oxygen, then quickly places the cup on your skin — as the air cools it contracts and creates the suction. The flame is only used to make the vacuum and never touches you.
- Is fire cupping safe — will I get burned?
- In trained hands fire cupping is very safe: the flame is removed before the cup is applied, so the fire never reaches your skin. There is a small burn risk if it’s done carelessly, which is exactly why it should be performed by an experienced, trained practitioner. If you’re unsure, ask about their training and how long they’ve done fire cupping.
- Does fire cupping hurt or leave marks, and who offers it?
- It shouldn’t hurt — you’ll feel warmth and a tight, pulling suction. Like other static suction cupping it commonly leaves round, discolored marks that are normal and fade within days to about two weeks. Fire cupping is most associated with licensed acupuncturists and TCM practitioners; the providers below show real evidence of offering it.
- How much does fire cupping cost?
- Where providers here publish a rate, fire cupping runs around $100 a session, and is often cheaper when added to an acupuncture visit than booked on its own. Prices vary by provider, length, and region — always confirm before booking.
