From the reviews
I highly recommend May at Holistic Massage Therapy. She has been doing my lymphatic drainage massages after my tummy tuck, liposuction, and fat grafting, and the difference has been incredible. May is extremely knowledgeable, gentle, and professional, and she truly understands post-operative care.
The best Sports Massage I’ve ever gotten. It was my first time getting fire cupping and it was amazing! May did a great job and was very professional, checking in with me as she went along. My girlfriend was getting the same treatment with Paul, who didn’t hold back on the pressure with her.
Had wet cupping done from May. She was great and very knowledgeable. Have been doing it for quite some time now and feel like it has always kept me on point. Would recommend anyone to come see May and explain what they are looking for in the healing process and she will figure out what’s best for your body in specific.
My experience with May at The Holistic Healing Spa was absolutely amazing. I booked the Lymphatic TCM Rejuvenating treatment with Gua Sha, and it was everything I needed and more. May is incredibly knowledgeable, gentle, and intentional with her work.
Booking hijama (wet cupping) at AcuQi TCM Spa
AcuQi TCM Spa comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — a female practitioner is available here. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
