From the reviews
I started going to Mika just over 3 years ago when an x-ray showed that I had arthritis in my hip. I wanted to try acupuncture as a means for relieving some of the pain. After just a few treatments, I noticed that my pain was almost gone.
After two years of acupuncture with Mika, she has become one of my go-to professionals for health-related questions and care. She's calm, knowledgeable, compassionate, and friendly. Mika shows genuine interest in not only my physical health but my overall well-being, which is refreshing and much-appreciated.
Mika has been an invaluable asset to our entire family! She has helped lessen the severity of my daughter’s allergies, helped support and assist the healing of my daughter’s lungs after multiple bouts of severe respiratory illnesses, helped to lesson my anxiety, boosted my children’s immune systems, helped with…
In early 2017 I was suffering with acute bone on bone pain in both shoulders caused by arthritis. A friend suggested going to her acupuncturist Mika at White Dandelion Chinese Medicine. This was my first experience with acupuncture so I had no idea what to expect.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
