I have been going to Cannon Pointe Chiropractic for a little over a year. The location is excellent and the facility is very nice as well as calm and relaxing. It's extremely easy to make an appointment and I never have any issues getting in when I need to. Most importantly, both Dr. Jake and Dr.
Dr. Bridget and Dr. Jake are quite the dynamic duo. I see Dr. Bridget most of the time. There are times I am such a mess they will tag team me. They are genuinely interested in your well being. When I share my experiences with friends, they are amazed when I tell them the amount of time they will spend on my care.
I was very nervous going to a chiropractor for the first time. I don't like people touching my neck or back and the thought of them making a mistake and permanently damaging me was freighting. I've also been told to be wary of practitioners that mess you up so you continuously come back.
I kinked my neck in my sleep and had been in so much pain. I couldn’t sleep, sit, lay, anything. I called Canon Pointe while at work on a Friday and asked if they had any openings on the next day (Saturday). The receptionist said they didn’t, but she’d put a note to call me in case of any cancellations.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
