From the reviews
I had knee surgery 15 years ago and have had residual pain ever since. After trying many medications that did not agree with my digestive system, I found Nia at the Boone Farmer's Market. Her Fibromyalgia/Pain Relief oil has given me almost total relief for the first time in many years!
Nia's gifts are many including some hard to find services like Polarity Therapy and Craniosacral Therapy. These can be particularly helpful when other types of bodywork are not. Nia is deeply intuitive and has a depth of skill I've not found with other massage/bodywork/alternative therapy practitioners.
I have received massage from Nia Dickens of Vital Being Alchemy for 3 years and I am amazed how every session is powerfully healing and unique to my needs. She is a truly gifted healer with her massage work, botanical sprays and oils, and her words of guidance.
Nia’s nickname from me is “Magic Hands”!!! She is so knowledgeable about the wellness of the body. It by far are the most amazing massages I receive. I only wish I lived closer to receive more treatments. I feel blessed to consistently get 4 a year due to me not living in North Carolina.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
