I require therapeutic massage to manage my arthritis, plus a few other old sports injuries. I have been to many massage therapists in several states over the years, all of whom provide relief but not quite like today.
My birthday massage by Kim was amazing!!! Don’t be fooled, she’s a little lady but she sure can pack a mighty punch when it comes to giving a deep tissue massage. I’m from Rapides parish and has had massages all around town there as well as some her in Lafayette.
Katrina was amazing! I'm not someone who likes massages but my best friend really wanted me to try out Spavia and I'm glad I did!! Katrina took her time with me and communicated what she was doing. She created a space to where I wasn't uncomfortable to communicate and what I did communicate, she delivered.
My first time visiting but won't be my last! I really appreciate the attention to details. The staff caters the experience to your personal preferences (ie. Music, scents, even level of conversation preferred during service). MT-Nicole was absolutely amazing!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
