From the reviews
I am forever grateful for Lise! I scheduled an appointment with Lise immediately after my 40week prenatal midwife appointment when it was looking like I might have to venture down the medical induction route. At 40 weeks of pregnancy, my body was not showing any signs of labor beginning anytime soon.
When I first came in, I hadn't been able to lay flat for 20-plus years due to left neck and shoulder pain. After 3 treatments, I can lay flat without pain. I'm getting better all the time. That is why I continue to see Lise for more treatments. She is amazing.
I was brand new to Acupuncture when I came across Peony Acupuncture. I put a lot of thought and research into which acupuncture practice I wanted to seek treatment from. When I came across the Peony Acupuncture website and Lise, I instantly knew she was the right one!
Lise is absolutely wonderful! I have been getting acupuncture for over 20 years between here and Spokane. Over those years have seen many different acupuncturists and can honestly say Lise has an amazing intuition with an extensive knowledge of both western and eastern modalities.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
