Onyx is a very calming and relaxing environment. Layne and Katie offer very professional services and I cannot recommend them enough. They are both incredibly talented and take passion in their work. After seeing Layne, I felt immediate relief and I will be returning!

★★★★★ — Sebastian, May 2020

Layne is simply the best. I’ve noticed so many positive changes since I started seeing her in February. My cycle has become regulated and less painful, my back and shoulder pain has significantly lessened, and my anxiety levels have decreased.

★★★★★ — Kate, Jul 2024

I'm a 52 year old guy, and started going to Onyx to address my back pain, which was the typical lower back and sciatic pain that folks get. I had never tried acupuncture before but a friend of mine (younger guy, combat vet) swore by his treatments. So I took the plunge.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
