From the reviews
I had a great experience today with my 60-minute massage at Mend. The location was easily accessible, and I walked in to a relaxing and cozy atmosphere. The massage therapist made sure to ask me about my areas of need before the session.
The hardest part about moving to a new city is finding a new massage therapist it seems. I have tried a handful of different places in the Treasure Valley, but they never met my expectations. I found Mend Bodywork online and decided to give it a shot.
I highly recommend scheduling a massage with Ariel at Mend Body work. I am a former massage therapist, which for better or worse makes me very selective with who I return to receive work from. After trying out many therapists, I am now a regular with Ariel.
I have been to other massage therapists, but never felt like they really cared about my health. When I started attending Mend, that all changed. Arielle has made me feel so much better in my body. I feel like I can move and live without pain for the first time in years.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
