From the reviews
I waited several months after moving away from Seattle and receiving treatments from other practitioners before writing this review. Gail was my first acupuncturist, and without a doubt, the best.
I was skeptical when I first went for acupuncture after a major car accident, but her treatments got me going towards healing again after stalling in my initial treatments I'd had for six months prior. So, I got another injury last week after not seeing her for many months.
Gail’s office is conveniently located within the same collective clinic as my NDs, in the Health and Wellness Clinic. I made the decision to start receiving AOM/TCM sessions with Gail after experiencing a 7 month spell of Amenorrhea as well as wanting to once again combine complimentary alternative medicine approaches…
As a professional bodyworker myself, I appreciate the skills and knowledge that Gail brings to her acupuncture practice. I was in a serious horse accident 2006. Gail provided healing work to not only regain sensation to my broken parts, but remain pain free after the accident. She is highly skilled in her field.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
