I’ve been going weekly for 4 years, and it’s been great really great for controlling my arthritis. I’ve also got diabetes, which brings neuropathy, and he does a really good job on my feet. The massages and cupping services round out every visit perfectly.
I received acupuncture, massage, and cupping for an intense flare-up of lower back pain. Michael is clearly an experienced, thoughtful, and dedicated practitioner. While I am not new to acupuncture, I appreciate the care Michael takes to frame the process for those new to his clinic (which I was).
I did the combined treatment of Cupping, Massage, and Acupuncture. I deal with Chronic Migraines and the beginning of sciatica and tried massage but it never felt like it was targeting the problem at the core. Walking in Michael is very warming and has a energy that is both calming,playful, and professional.
Micheal of Madison Family Wellness is by far the most knowledgeable, dedicated, caring practitioners. I struggled with long shingles and went to Michea. it was his treatments that not only healed them but, I left so relaxed. He not only practices acupuncture but, gives an excellent massage.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
