Why Madison Acupuncture & Complementary Medicine is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “a glass or plastic cup is suctioned onto the body and allowed to sit for about ten minutes. This technique stimulates circulation, relieves swelling, and greatly enhances an acupuncture or Electro-acupuncture treatment. Cupping is used for…” source →

What clients say about the cupping here
“Amy is fantastic- kind, warm, genuinely invested in her patients’ outcomes, and incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at her work.”
From the reviews
Needless to say , Amy gets the point ! All puns aside , I would like leave my testimony about my healing trajectory . A few years ago I severely hurt my shoulder. I searched medical assistance to help with my pain and discomfort, and I was offered some therapy that sadly did not work .
Amy has found her purpose in life: To help others heal. Amy has a deep intuitive and technical understanding of Acupuncture. She always maintains a fresh perspective while surveying the body for areas in need of care. Additionally, she has a wealth of knowledge in modern alternative and functional medicine.
Amy is wonderful and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to improve their pain or help with infertility. I started seeing her while trying to conceive our second child--after going through IVF (and years of treatments) for our first, I was sure we'd have to go that route again, but I wanted to do…
When our daughter and her husband gave us our youngest grandchild after seeing Amy for fertility, I knew Amy was the person for me to see. Naturally curious, she is relentless in finding ways to both ease the burden of my rare lung disease and address the many changes that come with aging.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
