Dr Zhou has helped me and my family tremendously. I have long covid and have tried everything American medicine has to offer with no relief. Dr Zhou has been helping me get better and has given me hope. We have been doing acupuncture and cupping one week a month. We have been coming here since 2008.
I have had trouble with fibromyalgia for a very long time, and even though there are still strides to be made, thanks to Dr. Zhou, I have made more progress in a few weeks than I ever had in years from Western doctors. When I first came to the clinic, I immediately appreciated the warm atmosphere and Dr.
I struggled for 10 months, saw 2 orthopedic surgeons and a sports medicine doctor trying to find relief from my severe knee pain. Finally an orthopedic surgeon told me there was nothing structurally wrong with my knee and recommended I try alternative medicine. That same day, I made an appointment with Dr. Zhou.
Dr. Zhou is THE MOST amazing acupuncturist I know! I had chronic TMJ, where I could barely move my jaw to open it to talk or eat. I could not chew food on one side of my mouth for 8 months. Chronic pain! I just finished my first session and I can open my mouth with no pain!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
