From the reviews
I have been seeing Lisa since 2016 and have never been disappointed. Her establishment is tastefully decorated starting from the entry area all the way to the restroom.
I’ve been seeing Lisa for several years now, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about her. I’ve gone to her for acupuncture, cupping, massages, radiofrequency microneedling which has made such a difference. She has helped my body in so many ways.
Dr. Lisa is hands down one of the best acupuncturists in San Mateo. I’ve been seeing her for all my TCM needs, and she has helped me through everything—from sore throats and coughs to my chronic back pain.
I came here for acupuncture and cupping treatments because I had major lower back pain. I was treated by Dr. Dan. I was very impressed by his bedside manner, professionalism and knowledge. He also recommend some exercises for me to do at home. My back felt all better after 2 treatments. Thanks Dr.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
