From the reviews
Dr Zhu is so thorough and knowledgable. She runs all the tests, and makes necessary dietary changes to help your body heal. She takes her time and does acupuncture, cupping and scraping on my problem areas. I appreciate her guidance in this healing journey, and I think you will too!
Dr. Zhu quite literally changed my life. Almost a year ago, I was experiencing severe chest pain that began interfering with my daily functioning. As the pain worsened, I also developed significant gut symptoms and acid reflux that became so intense I developed a fear of eating.
I have been working with Dr. Zhu for several years after my son was diagnosed with Eosinophilic Esophagitis at age 5. His GI doctors only offered medication as an option and to be honest, they had very limited information regarding this Gi disease.
I am a western physician, and I have been so impressed with Dr. Zhu’s expansive knowledge both as an acupuncturist, herbalist, and naturopath. Dr. Zhu is so caring and truly goes above and beyond in every way to ensure her patients feel seen and heard. Dr.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
