Why Joint Ventures Physical Therapy is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “nclude: Manual Therapy Hands-on treatment techniques that improve joint mobility, reduce pain, and restore function — including soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, joint mobilization and manipulation, massage, cupping, and the…” source →

From the reviews

This is the third time that I have had to go to PT at Joint Ventures in Wayland. The first two times were for knee injuries & post surgery PT. This third time is for heel pain. Obviously, I am very satisfied with the care I receive at Joint Ventures. My therapist this time around is Phil. He is wonderful!

Joint Ventures in Wayland is an excellent PT practice. The front office staff- Sarah and Chaz- are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Over the past few years I have had to work with three different PTs (knee, vertigo, back) and I want to thank each of them- Jeff, Amanda and Andy for their professionalism, competence…

I’ve been going to joint ventures for a couple of weeks now. I’m recovering from surgery for a totally torn rotator cuff. I realize it’s gonna be a long recovery and as an active person it’s difficult. Andy has been absolutely great!! Every appointment is him and I , one on one and I’m already making great progress.

I recently began PT for a bout of sciatica at Joint Ventures in Wayland. I chose Joint Ventures because their physical therapists had helped me in the past with knee replacement rehabilitation and an earlier episode of sciatica. The practice is conveniently located near me and the facilities are comprehensive.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
