From the reviews

I set up an appointment with Integrative Health and Sports Medicine not expecting much, I just received whiplash in an accident and was looking for a holistic way to recover. After consulting with Jameel, we decided to try acupuncture and my understanding for recovery has been forever changed.

Dr. Battle is beyond amazing! He goes above and beyond to make sure that your healthcare goals are met. I’ve started with him about two months ago and I was a complete mess. To give a brief description in detail.

★★★★★ — Angela, Jun 2020

Dr Battle is phenomenal. I started seeing him at the beginning of the year and he has been a very instrumental piece on my road to recovery. He is very personable and attentive. I've brought my mother and friends to see him and receive his acupuncture services. We are all very please with his care and professionalism!

★★★★★ — Corrie, May 2020

Being a competitive lifter unfortunately comes with its fair share of aches, pains, and injuries. I have had a chronic posterior/lateral knee pain since February 2020 that progressively became worse and worse until I was finally forced to take two months off of lifting, an unthinkable setback.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
