From the reviews

I went to Dr. Sean at Front Runner Physiotherapy with low back discomfort and was back in the gym the very next day feeling confident and moving well. He led me through nerve gliding exercises, used dry needling, and applied cupping while guiding me through movements to maximize its benefits.

If you're someone who is looking for a way better experience than what traditional physical therapy offers, you have to check out Front Runner. Sean is incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. I went to see him for intermittent ankle pain following a fall in the shower and underside foot pain.

So many good things to say about Sean! Despite growing up running high school XC, my form was causing recurring knee pain. Sean reviewed my form, gave me some items to work on when running and exercises to do at home. He even helped me with prerace prep before a race with some deep tissue work.

★★★★★ — Andrea, Jul 2023

Sean is a true 5/5 :) I can't recommend Sean enough. A couple of years ago, I developed severe knee inflammation that no doctor could figure out. During my first appointments, they'd say things like, "If running makes your knee hurt, then stop running," or "Maybe you should try biking.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
