From the reviews

I first went to Sophia for fertility acupuncture back in Dec 2019 - it was my first experience with acupuncture and she really helped answer all my questions and assuage my fears. She really listened to what was going on with me and was knowledgable about many aspects of my struggles and had resources to refer me to.

It's difficult for me to trust someone to do acupuncture because I had a very good acupuncturist previously but he closed his clinic so I had to find another acupuncturist. I found Nicole of Embrace Acupuncture and she is also very good.

★★★★★ — Dc, Sep 2023

Had an overall great experience with Sophia! I didn't need any particular treatments, but Sophia took the time to really try to get a comprehensive idea of my overall health and potential issues. In the end, we went with acupuncture and cupping, and I was thrilled with the results.

★★★★★ — Jaeho, Dec 2020

I have been twice now and have really loved the entire experience. She has totally renovated the entire space with spacious rooms for treatment and an open area that she holds classes in. I have gone for Acupuncture twice and cupping once and I totally noticed a difference in my left leg nerve pain.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
