Best treatments ever! I suffer from chronic pain, lupus, R.A., migraine headaches and other daily disabilities and after my first time getting acupuncture from the pinwheel I was totally amazed and so very impressed. I recommend pinwheel to all. The staff is so kind and the overall environment is very relaxing.

★★★★★ — Nancy, Jul 2016

I feel so blessed to have Pinwheel as a huge part of my healing team. Sometimes in life you get more challenges. I was hit while parked by a motorcycle. I have had 5 bulging discs, left arm & shoulder. Then had a successful robotic surgery. I came home to live with my dad.

★★★★★ — Maureen, Dec 2013

I always feel much better after receiving treatment at Pinwheel! I try to go as often as possible because it makes such a big difference in the way I feel as far as energy, sleep and mental clarity. I have been to many community acupuncture places and Pinwheel is my favorite.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
