Ray is definitely one of the best in the business! One of the most knowledgeable and hardworking individuals in the industry; he really cares for his patients and does what he can to get them back to 100% again. His holistic approach to identifying the problem and finding a solution is what separates him from the rest.

I've had the pleasure to be treated by Ray for the past two months and I give him much kudos for helping with my right rotator cuff injury. I hit a plateau with regular PT after four months when I was introduced to Ray.

★★★★★ — Lyman, Jun 2017

Ray at Balance Point Therapy is an amazing clinician. His passion and extensive experience in the field allow him to create a very personalized approach for his clients. The first time I ever received accupuncture and cupping was from Ray for a chronic shoulder injury.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
