From the reviews

Brandie does such a great job with massages! She has the perfect amount of pressure! I am always so excited to get massages from her. It is such a relaxing experience! She has a lot of experience and is very knowledgeable. I always do the cupping as well and I just feel healthier walking out of Ames spine and sport!

I would give Dr. Jessi a higher rating if I could, she quite literally saved my 3 year old from being admitted to the ER/ ICU. I am originally from Ames but have since moved out of state. While back visiting family my 3 year old started having a severe asthma attack.

★★★★★ — Kimberly, Nov 2022

I have been seeing Kristina Rodden for years, and I truly can’t say enough about how incredible she is. From the very first session, I knew I had found someone who not only understands the body but also genuinely cares about her clients’ well-being.

★★★★★ — Cassandra, Mar 2025

Kristina is the best! I have been using Kristina for about 5 years or so. Not only is she highly skilled in her profession, but she is also kind and caring. She knows how to help your body function at its best which in turn helps with quality living. I would hate to have to go anywhere else.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
