From the reviews
I came to see Angie for shoulder pain after rock climbing. I am a health coach and before coming to see her I tried mobility work and shoulder strengthening exercises for the rotator cuff and other supporting muscles. Although it helped a little I still had a good amount of pain.
Angie was very knowledgable and thorough in assessment of my left side sciatica and lumbar pain. She did acupuncture and cupping on me. Already I feel some relief of pain I had been suffering with for months. She is very professional and came up with an individualized plan of care for me.
I’ve been going to Acupuncture for Balanced Wellness for almost two years. Originally, I went for a few injuries—back, knee and hip. Angie Ng is amazing. She listens to you and adapts her treatment to your needs every session. She helped me heal quicker than without acupuncture.
I recently started acupuncture treatments w Angie at Acupuncture For Balanced Wellness and totally regret waiting so long to take the advice of friends that have recommended acupuncture, especially with Angie!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
