From the reviews

I just found Acupia Wellness through Google and Korean websites since I wanted to find an authentic Korean Han-eui-won(clinics/hospitals with Korean/Asian traditional to modern skills) to get acupuncture treatment.

★★★★★ — 박경윤, Apr 2026

I have tendonitis in my left shoulder causing me pain when I try to reach my back. Additionally, I would have pain in my knees when I try to squat down from time to time. Using acupuncture and cupping, Dr. Lee and Dr. Songyan Kim have reduced the pain in my shoulder and knees.

★★★★★ — Frances, Mar 2026

I’ll admit, I was a huge skeptic of acupuncture and had a major fear of needles. However, Dr. Kim has made me a complete believer in these treatment methods. I cannot recommend this practice enough! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the office staff and both Dr. Kim and Dr.

★★★★★ — Sopheap, Mar 2026

I had been dealing with constant pain in my neck, shoulders, and lower back for quite some time, so I decided to visit this clinic. I’m really glad I did. Soyang took the time to carefully listen to my symptoms and was very thoughtful in determining what kind of treatment my body actually needed.

Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Acupia Wellness

Acupia Wellness comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
