Why Wellspring Acupuncture is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “didn’t like the side effects of one of the prescription medications that I was placed on. Dr. Choe had told me in the initial evaluation that after about 2 months of treatment (which would include acupuncture and cupping) I should…” source →

  • Wet cupping / hijama offers hijama (wet cupping) — if you're booking hijama specifically, ask about single-use sterile kits and, if it matters to you, a same-gender practitioner

From the reviews

Dr. Choe treated my lower back pain with multiple acupuncture sessions along with wet cupping. Very few places if any have the proper techniques and knowledge to perform "wet cupping", which is highly effective.

★★★★★ — Sina, Sep 2023

Dr. Daniel Geren is a gifted healer. He has been treating me over the last year for multiple ailments. The most significant treatment was for menopause. I was experiencing very intense symptoms and with-in two sessions they had subsided to almost undetectable.

★★★★★ — Erika, Jul 2021

Dr. Choe is very skilled and uses various techniques to alleviate my chronic problems. He listens patiently to your problems and asks follow up questions to make sure he understands your conditions.

★★★★★ — Lisa, Jun 2026

Wow. I can get a restful sleep and eat actually keeping my food down since treatment. I also have less joint problems as well. Thanks doc.

Booking hijama (wet cupping) at Wellspring Acupuncture

Wellspring Acupuncture comes up as a provider that offers hijama — wet cupping, where the skin is lightly punctured after suction so a small amount of blood is drawn. If you're booking hijama specifically, a few things are worth asking before you go. First, sterility is everything — a reputable practitioner uses a fresh, single-use kit (new blades and cups) for every client and follows clean, gloved technique. It's completely fair to ask how they handle this. Second, many people booking hijama want a same-gender practitioner — ask whether that can be arranged. Third, ask about aftercare and whether they observe particular days if that matters to you.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
