I am not quite sure how I was so fortunate to end up at Water House for a massage, but it was well worth the trip. You know how you always look for the perfect pillow, today this was my perfect pillow. Normally, my go to is a deep tissue or sport massage but I met with Bella a Thai masseuse.
I’ve gone to Katy for acupuncture multiple times and she’s amazing. She’s completely fixing my elbow tendonitis- I’ve gone to other acupuncturists and Katy is hands down the most effective. She’s the first who’s been able to make my elbows better, to the point where I can finally do the sports I love without pain.
I'm lucky enough to have had two prenatal massages here with Christina, the first one by accident because a friend couldn't make her appt and offered me her slot, and the second because I was dying to come back after my first one! Christina is amazing. All the staff are super friendly and competent.
Went here prior to a surgery to try and relax and get a deep tissue massage preemptively. I had Rory, who was a fantastic massage therapist! I felt incredibly welcome and comfortable before and throughout the massage and he did a wonderful job making me feel this way.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
