I threw out my back about a month ago and was dealing with severe muscle spasms in my lower back that just wouldn't let up. Jamal did deep tissue work using his elbows to release the knots in my lower back and glutes.
Nothing but 5 stars for Jamal. I had an incredible experience at Revivo. Jamal is a truly great professional and clearly knows what he is doing. He was very attentive to my comfort, regularly checking in about pressure and focusing carefully on the areas that needed the most work.
This is exactly what I needed to start my birthday! Jamal was extremely professional and made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. He listened to all the specifics where I needed attention and followed up with precise techniques to release my trigger points, tension and induce relaxation.
5 stars all around for Jamal and Revivo. He is one of my top 3 favorite massage therapists. I’ve been seeing Jamal since he began his massage career and he only gets better with time. He is really great with deep tissue and stretching. He really cares about his clients and making sure they have the best experience.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
