Lovely staff and students! Professors are a part of the consultation so you are receiving the best of care. Cupping and electric moxa was also super helpful. Not sure what I would have done without this place. So sad they're moving further away to John's Creek!
I recently visited VUIM Clinic for acupuncture treatment, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was calming and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Amazing Acupuncture Experience at VUIM for My Left Arm Pain I recently visited VUIM (Virginia University of Integrative Medicine) due to persistent pain in my left arm. I had heard good things about acupuncture, so I decided to give it a try. Upon my arrival, the staff at VUIM was incredibly warm and welcoming.
Let me start by saying that I am completely amazed and satisfied with their expertise and service. They are very professional, courteous, pleasant and understand the circumstances of your visit. Yes!!!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
