Why Valley Naturopathic & Acupuncture is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “ither shaped into balls and stuck on top and burned, or tiny sticks of moxa can be burned on top of the needle. While many say that moxa has a pleasant smell, many others complain that the smell is similar to marijuana. CuPPING Cupping…” source →

From the reviews

My wife and I see both Dr. Donahue and Emily Lanning. The naturopathic care and accupuncture treatments are second to none. If you want to get and maintain health this is the place to go!

Dr. Lindsay Donahue is a wonderful person, she is very bright and helpful. She would always take her time to listen and address your needs. Always willing to try other ways or alternatives if a person is not comfortable with something. I found about their office really by accident and I’m glad I did!

★★★★★ — Victoria, Feb 2019

Emily Laning is so kind and compassionate. She takes such good care of her clients. I came to her for some perimenopausal symptoms and she has been treating me now for about 3 months. Her acupuncture in conjunction with the herbs, I am definitely on the mend and feeling better!

I have been going to Emily Laning for Accupuncture for over a year and she is amazing! Emily is very kind, personable and thorough. She always takes time to listen, understand and create the best experience that she can!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
