From the reviews
…She also identified and addressed an issue with my IT bands and added cupping to that area which was very helpful. I felt that she was very knowledgeable in all aspects of massage and body work, encompassing multiple modalities. This was a very positive experience and I am looking forward to many more sessions.
Carla has the most keen sense of touch and is patient with knots and adhesions in the body. She used a bunch of techniques that I personally really respond well too. I loved her environment and space, so welcoming and relaxing!
Carla is amazing! She listens and addresses your areas of concern. The atmosphere was calming and I was able to relax and allow her to release the stress from my body. I highly recommend Brain and Body Therapy.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
