From the reviews

I’ve been to Unwind Wellness several times now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite places for bodywork in DC. If you’re looking for massage therapists who actually do real work, this is the place. I’ve seen both Helen and Heajin, and they are exceptional in different but complementary ways.

Unwind has been my massage go-to for a few years now. They have fairly standard, reasonable rates for the area, and I have yet to run into a bad or unskilled massage therapist here.

★★★★★ — Meredith, Mar 2026

My experience at Unwind Wellness has been absolutely lovely. It truly is the best place to unwind and take care of yourself. Every time I walk in, I immediately feel relaxed and welcomed. The staff are so friendly and kind. Evelli, the young lady at the front desk, always makes me feel so welcome and appreciated.

Got a couples deep tissue massage with Daniel and Max and wow…incredible!! Daniel was very good at getting out the tension and knots while incorporating an easy and relaxing flow. His movements were consistent, smooth, and strong.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
