From the reviews
I cannot say enough good things about Allison and Ms. Winslett. I see Ms Winslett weekly and she is so kind, patient and just such a wonderful listener and healer. Sometimes I don’t know if I book weekly because I “need” it or because I simply feel like she makes my weeks better.
I’ve been seeing Alissa for a few years for various health concerns, including pregnancy support, and she is truly gifted. I was hesitant about acupuncture prior to seeing her but she’s made me a believer.
After four acupuncture visits with Alissa, I feel like I'm getting my life back. For reference, I've been experiencing chronic moderate to acute sciatica for three years now. I've seen multiple physical therapists and chiropractors, and despite doing the work, I experienced little relief.
I've been going to Turning Pointe for almost 3 years. It hasn't ever crossed my mind to look elsewhere for acupuncture. This place is everything you could want. The space is so inviting, yet clinical enough to know that you're in safe and professional hands. The staff feel like friends, and the services WORK!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
