Why True Essence is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. Here's what we found: “THAI YOGA MASSAGE Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient healing modality that combines acupressure, soft tissue manipulation, assisted yoga postures, breathing and meditation to bring the body into a state of deep relaxation. From the reviews
I've been going to Karen for my massage therapy needs for years and referred countless friends and family, all with glowing feedback. Karen's a great listener and asks the right questions to understand how she needs to focus her massage skills to fix all the kinks and knots that are plaguing me and I walk out…
Karen has profound skill as a body worker. Her hands are strong and intuitive. I have come to Karen on multiple occasions with back pain and neck tension. She systematically focuses on each muscle of the body so that when she’s done I feel pulled apart and put back together, always floating out of the room.
Karen is extremely good at finding and treating what your body needs the most, in a professional, helpful way. She is by far the best massage therapist I’ve had over many years, I can wholeheartedly recommend her. Her studio is calming and quiet, very restorative.
This is somehow under my husbands account, but I had to share how amazing Karen is. I’ve even gone so far as to nickname her “magic hands” when I’m talking about her. She is professional, takes time to listen, finds and helps release tension wherever I’m holding it, and genuinely cares about her clients.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
