From the reviews
I decided to go see Dr Yan for abdomen pain and lower back pain. Dr Yan is so prompt with answering your messages and any questions you might have. This was my first time seeing a acupuncturist. She made my first experience so wonderful and comfortable constantly asking if I’m ok and if I’m cold.
Glad to try Tri Acupuncture! I’ve been going to Yan for a long time for various ailments my family members and I have. Yan's expertise in this field of acupuncture is pretty exceptional! Combined knowledge on traditional Chinese and western medicine, She always tries to figure out the root cause of the problem.
I suffered from sciatic pain on my right leg for several months and almost walked with a limp when I came to Yan for treatment. Yan is a great listener and observer. She examined me thoroughly from my neck, to back, leg and feet using her fingers to feel my spine and muscle.
I recently visited Tri Acupuncture for treatment, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm, calming, and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, making me feel comfortable and at ease right away. Dr.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
