Why TheraTessMassage is listed — cupping is a treatment, not a Google category, so we only list a provider when there's real proof they offer it. From the reviews
Tessa is amazing. She truly listens and tailors each session to what my body needs. We usually incorporate cupping, which has helped relieve my pain in areas that can’t tolerate deep tissue pressure. Her work is such a great balance of focused, therapeutic care and deep relaxation.
I am 71 years old and I've been going to massage therapists for decades because of problems with my back. Of all the therapists who have worked on my back, Tessa is the best! Even without any input from me, she always finds the areas that need the most work and by the time she's finished, I feel much better!
I was lucky to have met Tessa in 2020 as I was recovering from cancer treatments. She is heaven-sent! I have relied on her services all through these years. Her techniques truly help me care for my body to stay relaxed and focused. You have to meet her and have her care for your body!!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
