From the reviews

I have been having a lot of back shoulder pain, and having sought other treatment never really helped. I decided to give Dr. Denise a try, and it was an amazing experience! She did acupuncture, electroacupuncture, and cupping. It was my first time receiving acupuncture treatment, so I had a lot of questions. Dr.

I am so glad I found this place. I had been experiencing inflammation under my eyes and on my face. I scheduled an appointment for facial acupuncture, which included acupuncture needles on my face and body, as well as guasha massage. Both services performed did not disappoint.

I had a wonderful experience at Thea Acupuncture with Dr. Denise Ho. I’ve always had a strong fear of needles, which made me very hesitant to try acupuncture, but Dr. Ho was incredibly patient, gentle, and understanding throughout the entire process.

I look forward to my treatments with Dr. Denise. At first I had a fear of needles but her confidence and technique helped me to relax. I love getting cupping done by her, my body always feel so relaxed after. I have chronic low back pain and high blood pressure and since I've been getting treatments by Dr.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
