I have been going to The Now for over 7 years consistently now, and always have an amazing experience. When they opened the location near me I was beyond ecstatic, and while I’ve always had amazing massage therapists, Suzanne has by far been my top one of all time.
I had THE BEST experience at The NOW Massage in El Segundo, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. From the moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place. The ambiance was calming, setting the perfect tone for relaxation.
I love the NOW, and this location specifically in South Bay / Manhattan Beach area is epic! I found them after doing a Soundbath for their members in their beautiful outdoor space last year (see me in the outdoor space in the photos). The staff and the owner, Lisa, are beyond lovely.
I’ve had a massage at The NOW South Bay 5 times, and each visit has been incredible! The atmosphere is instantly calming when you walk through the door and the receptionists are kind and welcoming. Dee has been my masseuse every time for my 80 minute massages and she definitely has magical hands!
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
