I received a monthly massage membership at The NOW Massage as a birthday gift from my husband, and it is hands down one of the best gifts I have ever received. A quick tip first. I always book my next massage before I leave. If I don’t, life gets busy and I won’t use it.
Where to begin. For longer than I would like to admit, I have been getting massages, acupuncture, chiropractic therapy, and have been going to float therapy. A few years ago, I was able to learn how to transcend when meditating.
I had such an amazing experience this time round with Crystal! If you’re looking for a skilled massage therapist near the Prosper area, I cannot recommend her enough. She is incredibly friendly, caring, and immediately makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
