Jiannan is a hidden gem in Reno and the best!!! We moved here from California two years ago, and I really needed a masseuse that knew what they were doing. Look no further, she knows exactly where your knots are. In addition, she also knows Chinese medicine!
I've never had traditional cupping before and it's much better than the current cupping that's being offered. Jiannan is one of the most skilled massage therapists I've been too. I didn't have to point out any problem spots, she found them and used different techniques to handle knots. I felt way better the next day.
Jiannan is so incredibly nice, a great listener, and quick to respond and schedule your appointment. She helped release tension and get rid of my migraine that I had before my appointment. She also gave me recommendations on how to help relieve migraine pain at home and stretch.
The place is inside a ballet studio. $60/hr massage. Massage was good and she is really nice. Not that quiet due to piano lesson and kids ballet lesson but not unbearable.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
