From the reviews

Going to Tao of Wellness Acupuncture has been such a helpful and healing addition to my life. Albert always takes the time necessary to get a full picture at each session of what’s going on with my body and life to know how best to support my health.

Whenever I feel the need for a tune up or when I feel that I am about to get sick, I go to the Tao of Wellness. I have been treated by Dr Vaca for years, and I always find his treatments to be efficient. He also has excellent manners and is a very compassionate and friendly person.

★★★★★ — Linda, Feb 2025

Dr. Albert Vaca is a healer. I leave each session feeling infinitely better. The issues that lead me to him in the first place have drastically improved (after just one session), and I've noticed unexpected benefits -- like increased energy, better sleep and mood. He is a mechanic for the body and soul.

Albert Vaca is an amazing acupuncturist and human being . He has helped me immensely to break through a very painful cycle of back pain and I am eternally grateful. Do not hesitate to see Albert and his wonderful front desk assistant, Riley. They will take good care of you!

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
