Wow this place is a gem. So many locals come here too. It’s conveniently located in Waikiki along the Ala Wai canal. I had a cupping and an Asian deep tissue massage. It was intense but I feel so much more relaxed after.
Wow. What a great find! This place had 5 stars so I had to check it out. The place did not disappoint. My massage therapist name was Sue and she had strong pressure with her deep tissue massage. I added the tiger balm which made it nice. They also have cupping too. I tried it and felt so relaxed afterwards.
I returned to Hawaii for a vacation this year and once again visited Sunrise Massage & Spa. The therapist who attended to me, Sammi, is a petite and beautiful woman with a very gentle demeanor.
We had a few hours available before our flight and called in to see if we could get a massage. They were able to squeeze us in right away. Ive been having pretty bad back spasms the past week after slipping on some mud. We did an hour long massage with tiger bomb.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
