I've been going to Kama'aina Acupuncture now for about a year and a half, and have found all of their acupuncturists to be experts. I schedule regularly with Patricia, and her skill, patience, and instinct have brought me immense care and relief.
OMG! Brandon is amazing and I went in with my lower back in pain and he did many things to help like cupping and acupuncture along with some deep tissue massage at the end. By the time I left I could walk way better than when I went in and their prices are the best in town.
When I need a little self-care, I love going to this place where I usually do cupping. The payment for the service is based on what you feel is fair.
Patricia did the treatment for my husband and I. Vety personable, knowledgeable, informative and thorough. She is really good. Typical treatments of this quality are charged double and triple the price that they offer. Highly recommend.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
