From the reviews

I have seen Catriona twice and am so excited to go back! She is truly a magical massage therapist! She is so dialed in and both times I have seen her has been able to work through some major problem areas. I’m an avid runner and seeing Catriona ahead of marathons has become part of my routine.

Wouldn’t recommend any other place in Seattle for massage. All of the therapists are intuitive and knowledgeable, the receptionists are so friendly and make scheduling appointments a breeze. I have always been able count on Stillwater for help with pain management and relaxation.

Alisha is a fabulous massage therapist! Very intuitive, strong, gentle, and a calm persona, all of which makes for a healing atmosphere. Before COVID I had one massage therapist for 30 years—Alisha, you’re as good as he was so now you’re stuck with me! Stillwater Massage— highly recommended.

I have been going to Stillwater massage since it's inception! I have received many different types of treatment including lymphatic drainage and visceral manipulation. Recently I was in because my shoulder had been bothering me and I had had limited range of motion for months.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
