From the reviews
I first heard about Sol Shine from a neighbor after returning from three weeks of travel. I was experiencing lots of tightness and soreness in my neck and back and was able to book an appointment upon my return. I have to say, this spa is very warm and welcoming once you step in.
I thought I was getting deep tissue massages every few years...Wrong! Ellen was so strong and totally made mush out of me! She was quiet while working and I felt I had been there only a short time, but she worked on me for over an hour! I also had the autumn legs and feet massage.
I was in town for a day, which ended up raining. Luckily I got to book a massage here. Was not sure what to expect but ended up having a great massage. Ellen was friendly and helpful. She worked out some tight areas and used products to try helping my very dry skin.
Greeted immediately and very clean space. Comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Leah used organic products and always gave a brief description of each item she used. Great warming towels as well. Made you feel relaxed and at ease through the whole treatment. Highly recommend this Mother and daughter business.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
