From the reviews

Susan is my favorite massage therapist that I have been to in my 20+ years of getting massages! She was recommended to me by my chiropractor when I was dealing with neck issues, which I promptly found great relief from after treatments with her. She is incredibly talented and easily tunes into what my body is needing.

I started seeing Susan for my chronic neck and shoulder pain. That was several years ago, and definitely the best thing I ever did. She is a very skilled and highly educated therapeutic masseuse. She has helped me as much, if not more, than any chiropractor ever could.

Susan is one of a kind! Her healing touch is led by intuition and backed by impeccable pressure, softness, and care. She has opened my eyes (and back) into what a massage can be…

★★★★★ — Matt, Nov 2025

Susan of Ancient Ways Wellness is extremely professional in all she does. She genuinely cares about her clients and sincerely wants to help heal. I began treatments with Susan during my pregnancy. She gave the most amazing prenatal massages and tremendously helped my sciatic pain during the last few months.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
