Beautiful place, great massage, highly disappointed in management. Backstory: My husband wanted to treat me after I gave birth to our son, I needed lymphatic drainage to be able to move my body but I also wanted a back massage so we booked for lymphatic and hot stone massages.
What a great find! While on a trip to visit my family, my daughter recommended Serenity. Being a firm believer in “shop” and support local, I was on board to give them a try. And boy I’m so glad I did. After a long week of working at my parents place, the 90 minute massage was the best medicine!
Had a deep tissue with Gwen. Trying to keep this super short, but basically Gwen relieved 20 years worth of back pain and stiffness. I showed up (and left) in my usual condition, but by the time I got home all my pain and stiffness was gone! Completely gone. I haven't felt like this in so many years.
My husband and I came here for the first time today. The overall experience was great. Everyone was very nice. The only comment we would like to make, is that the places we said we wanted the most focus on, was the least focused on. We also wish they used a bit more firm pressure.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
