From the reviews

I had a facial acupuncture appointment with Lauren last weekend and it was incredible! I had been going there for regular acupuncture sessions already but this was my first time ever getting facial acupuncture. The full treatment included a buccal massage, facial/gua sha massage, facial cupping and acupuncture.

Lauren at Saratoga Community Acupuncture came highly recommended by a friend & also my medical massage professional. I had been experiencing chronic pain, limited mobility and inability to bend down, get out of my car, sit at my desk during work hours etc. Over the course of a year I had done 3 months of PT inc.

Saratoga Springs Community Acupuncture saved me. I was referred by my chiropractor, who had nothing but great things to say, and they were absolutely right. I wasn’t sure what to expect from a community space, but I was in so much pain that I decided to give it a shot—and I’m so glad I did.

★★★★★ — Chelsea, Mar 2025

I started at Saratoga Springs Community Acupuncture out of desperation from 20+ years of chronic migraines and severe insomnia. I had been on preventative migraine medication for a long time, but the side effects were becoming unbearable.

What to expect from your first cupping session

New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.

Cupping isn't for everyone — if you're on blood thinners, pregnant, or have a skin condition or bleeding disorder, check with your doctor first, and always tell your practitioner about health concerns before a session. This page is directory information, not medical advice.
