From the reviews
I cannot recommend SAMA enough! If you’re looking for acupuncture in the Chicago suburbs, this is the place to go. The treatments are so much more than just acupuncture, it’s a full nervous system reset.
Stephanie, has been treating me for stress and anxiety. I can definitively say that the cupping and acupuncture sessions have really helped significantly! Stephanie, is very sweet and makes sure all my questions or issues are addressed. She made me feel so comfortable since the beginning.
I came in for lower back pain (9/10). My pain is now a (2/10) after just one visit. The owner performed cupping therapy and acupuncture on my back. Not only did my pain subside from the treatment, I also got a great night of sleep and my wife said that I was calmer than usual that night.
Stephanie has been absolutely wonderful to work with! Our initial visit consisted of her asking an extensive amount of questions so that she could really understand my body and what we wanted to achieve during our sessions.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
