I can’t thank Rhode Island Pelvic Wellness enough for all that they have done for me. I worked with Olivia during the most challenging time in my life both emotionally and physically. I was experiencing symptoms that left me feeling vulnerable and alone, and Olivia made me feel comfortable, heard, and safe.
I am so thankful for working with Olivia! She healed my pain that I have had for over two years in only three sessions. She is so pleasant, professional, and made me feel comfortable from our first appointment.
I went to Olivia in my third trimester to help prep myself for delivery as well as to address other pelvic floor issues I was having. On the very first appointment, I learned SO much about the simplest of things I was unaware of, but that were foundational to my life and my pregnancy.
I have been dealing with pelvic pain and multiple urinary symptoms for 5 years before a doctor finally recommended pelvic floor physical therapy and it’s the best thing I could have done for my health.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
