Alex at Revival Massage Therapy gives the BEST massages I have ever had, and I have gone to many massage therapists over the last 50 years. Before I went to him for my first visit, my low back ached constantly, my spirit was wounded, and I was depressed and anxious. I told him I needed to rebalance my life.
I have seen Alex as a massage therapist for about 15 years. When I started seeing him I loved and appreciated his deep tissue work. Many years later, he suggested a more relaxing massage and one day I agreed. His relaxing massage was firm and he still worked my trouble spots.
I have been seeing Alex for years now. He is, hands down, the very best. He’s helped my lower back, foot and sore hips. When I was pregnant with my twins he was my saving grace. He has such a keen knack for knowing where your problem areas are and working on them.
What to expect from your first cupping session
New to cupping? Here's the short version. What happens: the practitioner places cups on the skin — most often the back, shoulders, or legs — and creates suction (with a pump, or briefly with a flame for fire cupping). Cups either stay put for a few minutes (dry cupping) or are glided over oiled skin (massage cupping). A session is usually 15–45 minutes, often added to a massage or acupuncture visit. The marks: cupping leaves round, bruise-like circles that are normal and usually fade in a few days to a couple of weeks — they're discoloration from the suction, not an injury, and shouldn't really hurt. What to wear: comfortable clothing that gives access to the area being treated. Afterward: drink water, keep the area warm, and skip intense sun or a hot sauna right after.
